ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A portion of US Highway 277 South was closed Thursday morning due to a fatal accident.
10-Year-Old Killed, 9 Injured in Crash Near Bronte
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash on State Highway 153, about one mile west of US-277 towards Bronte. According to the DPS, the crash resulted in one fatality.
Ballingernews.com reported from the scene that an emergency medical task force multi-patient bus from the Abilene Fire Department was deployed to assist.
As first responders worked at the crash site, they urged drivers to be cautious and prepared for possible delays or detours. Motorists were advised to be vigilant for emergency personnel managing traffic and investigating the incident.
Texas DPS confirmed that nine people were injured in the crash, and a 10-year-old child lost their life.
